Diploma In Operation Theatre

The Diploma in O.T. Technology prepares students for the overall work and management concerning the operation theatre. An O.T. Technician’s work includes managing the patients and taking care of the ins and outs of the operation process.

Some other duties of the technician include the following:

Looking after all the surgical instruments and their sterilization

Management of the staff

Arranging operation theatre table, dressing table, instrument table, anaesthesia table

look after the drugs required for surgery, anaesthetic gases, drapes, and all the linen, as well as their sterilization.

Assisting the surgeon during the operations

In short, an operation theatre technician has to manage and organize the operation theatre. Without the qualified assistance of an O.T. Technician, neither can a surgeon operate on patients nor can a hospital and nursing home run efficiently.

Eligibility Criteria

The essential eligibility criteria for pursuing a Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream with Physics, ChemistryBiology, and Mathematics from a recognized board of the country.

Admission Procedure

Admission is based on marks scored by candidates in the board examination. The minimum aggregate mark required is 45%. (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Duration: 2 Years, Affiliated to UP State Medical Faculty Lucknow.
